BIOTOPES’ ECOLOGY

The term biotope literally translated from the Greek means <<place of life>>.

This can refer to any space: a swampland, a lawn, a wood or even a single rock.

The life in it, whether animals or plants, constitutes its biocoenosis (from the Greek <<community of living beings>>).

Biotopo and biocoenosis create an ecosystem.

Biotope and biocoenosis create an ecosystem. The continuous urbanization of green areas reduces the existence of these precious <<places of life>> and this creates the necessity of handling, managing and sometimes even building these natural spaces.
